What does cybersecurity have to do with this year’s London Marathon on Sunday April 21, 2024?

VERDICT Reports that very few runners will be like Georgia Bell. She’s probably logged more training miles than many others – but she’s a runner with even higher goals: possibly going to the Olympics to run the women’s 1,500 meters this summer, and at the same time, becoming a favorite and role model for women. in cybersecurity.

What’s most impressive about Bell isn’t just his running. This is because she finds the time to combine training at the highest level twice a day with a full-time job in cybersecurity abnormal security. Bell previously held positions at Zscaler and DarkTrace.

Earlier this month, Bell competed at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, narrowly missing out on a medal and finishing fourth.

Bell’s story makes her a model not only for female runners, but also for women in IT, and particularly in cybersecurity. Women make up only a quarter of the cyber workforce, and constant efforts are being made to increase this percentage. Its growth is still far too slow.

Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that women will represent 30% of the global cybersecurity workforce by 2025rising to 35 percent by 2031.
