Are you wasting three hours of statistics per day on your Medium blog? | by Teri Radichel | Biting Bugs | February 2024

Curious if anyone else sees this and should stay up later to figure out what’s going on, if I could tell

The last few nights I’ve been looking at my Medium blog stats at night. It moves to the next day three hours before midnight. I mean, that might make sense if you’re on the West Coast and you’re thinking, oh, it’s going to US East Coast time, and move on.

However, I’m on the east coast. It does not mean anything. Why would he review statistics before 9 p.m. in some cases? Like last night, I posted my stats after his turnaround. The numbers didn’t change yesterday when I checked this morning

So you think, oh, they must be here the next day, right? But in the past, Medium has updated statistics every hour. They used to update them much more frequently, but it’s easier to not give you all your stats if they don’t report them in real time (or if someone else swipes your stats and adds them to his own blog with a system vulnerability he discovered) and you can’t tell. Because you only get the cumulative numbers.

But even if that were the case, that’s not what’s happening here. The stats come back at 7:55 p.m. or whatever, then the stats for the next few days stay at zero for hours. I never see them move. So I don’t think the stats are just added the next day.

I’d be curious to know what others see and have them write about it. Do you watch the hover and when the stats start to reappear? Do they increase significantly to make up for three hours of lost stats or are you just not getting three hours of your stats?

Check it out for yourself…because I don’t know what’s going on here…and report it to Medium if you think there’s a problem. I’m sure all writers and authors on Medium would like to make sure they receive accurate reporting on their views and readings.
