THE Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently held its first Express Entry Draw for the transport sector, inviting 670 candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) was 435.
In December, the Canadian government invited a total of 3,325 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The invitations were issued through three different draws. The first print on December 18 was open to applicants from all programs, and 1,325 candidates with a minimum score of 542 were invited to apply.
The second draw on December 19 was focused on trades and 1,000 candidates who obtained a minimum score of 425 were invited to apply. If you want to apply for permanent residency in Canada, keep an eye on these draws to see if you are eligible to apply.

Express entry targeted for transport professions
To qualify for this draw, candidates must first be eligible for an Express Entry program. The three relevant Canadian immigration programs are the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST).

Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced the completion of specific categories for category selection in the country’s immigration system. These categories, established during the adoption of Bill C-19 in the Canadian Parliament last June, include French language proficiency, health professions, STEM professions, skilled trades, transportation professions ( including truck drivers) and agriculture and agri-food professions. .
The categories chosen for category-based selection are:
- Mastery of the French language
- Health professions
- Occupations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
- Skilled trades
- Transportation occupations (including truck drivers)
- Agriculture and agri-food professions
You must also meet all the eligibility conditions for one of the three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker ProgramTHE Canadian Experience Classor the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
