Google Chrome only had blank screens and Little Snitch blocked all updates
After updating to Sonoma on a Mac – version 14.1.1 – Google Chrome showed me completely blank screens. I couldn’t even submit comments. Everything was a white screen.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but Safari was completely stuck.
I was using Little Snitch and something in this update must be using different network protocols, ports and domains, otherwise Little Snitch itself has completely blocked all access. I couldn’t find a way to disable or update Little Snitch, so ultimately I just uninstalled it.
Once Little Snitch was uninstalled, I was able to download and install Google Chrome in Safari. However, even after reinstalling, Google Chrome was giving me all blank screens. I was trying to figure out what to do and run diagnostics when suddenly Chrome started working again.
Maybe Google Chrome was updating but very confusing user experience.
