Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its first Express Entry draw for the transportation sector, inviting 1,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence. To receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), applicants were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 435.
This Express Entry draw by category The draw was launched due to an urgent labor shortage in the transportation industry. Minister of Transport Pablo Rodriguez stressed the importance of investing in the people who move people and goods to maintain a thriving economy.
The aim of the latest targeted Express Entry draw is to fill vacancies in occupations such as truck’s driver, pilots, aeronautical mechanical engineersAnd sailorscontributing to economic growth and strengthening supply chains.
This latest Express Entry is aimed at truck drivers and other transportation professions. More targeted Express Entry draws were organized this summer, including rounds of category selection invitations. However, there was a break in draws between August 15th and this recent draw, and IRCC has not offered an explanation for this temporary shutdown.

Express entry targeted for transport professions
The minister established specific criteria for choosing people in transportation-related occupations for Targeted Express Entry that align with economic objectives. To qualify for this draw, as well as any other category-based Express Entry draws, applicants must first be eligible for an Express Entry program. The three relevant Canadian immigration programs are Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), the Canadian Experience Class (CCE), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (TVF).

Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced the completion of specific categories for category selection in the country’s immigration system. These categories were established through the passage of Bill C-19 by the Canadian Parliament last June, which has since become law.
