My stats have faltered

Although I haven’t written a very long article in a few days, my stats have reached previous levels. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with Medium and Medium itself makes no difference in the number of people reading my blog. I think it just depends on the topics I choose and my social media posts, which may or may not be related to what I’ve written.
I just mentioned my blog and something I could write about and my numbers went up. That was it ? Or was it just by chance what people were searching for that day? No idea. I can’t see all the stats, so no real way to judge the numbers.
The other thing is that even though the views increased, the reads were in the toilet.
Reading rate of 21.57%.
Was it because I posted shorter stories?
Maybe it was because I wrote shorter stories and the technicians probably read very quickly. They are used to reading code and typing quickly, so I think most of them scan articles for…
