Cybersecurity giant SentinelOne announced the acquisition of consulting firm Krebs Stamos Group and the creation of a new entity called PinnacleOne Strategic Advisory Group.

Founded in 2021 by Christopher Krebs – the first director of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency – and former Facebook chief security officer Alex Stamos, the consulting firm has provided cybersecurity consulting services to large businesses.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Krebs will serve as SentinelOne’s head of intelligence and public policy, while Stamos will serve as head of the trust.

According to SentinelOne, the new PinnacleOne company “will aim to help today’s leaders understand the realities of doing business in the modern global business landscape through transformative intelligence, insight and risk management strategies.” unprecedented “.

“Whether we like it or not, technology has changed the world as we know it and it will likely get worse before it gets better. But there is hope”, Krebs said. “PinnacleOne will provide insights and guidance that leaders can use to better understand the threats they face, as well as actionable strategies that improve their resilience and prepare them for the future.” »

SentinelOne’s Eran Ashkenazi called the new entity a “think tank for hire” that would help clients understand who is targeting them, what they’re looking for and how strong their security posture is.

In a post on LinkedInStamos said he and Krebs are excited to “help develop new capabilities to support defenders, from the hands-on security analyst at the keyboard all the way to the boardroom.”

Stamos added that he would leave his role as director of the Stanford Internet Observatory to focus more on school teaching and research into child safety.

In May, the Krebs Stamos group licensed six of its 18 employees.

Krebs spent decades working in cybersecurity before becoming CISA’s first director. He became a household name after falling out with then-President Donald Trump over allegations of voting irregularities in 2020. Trump then fired Krebs in a message on Twitter.

Stamos led Facebook’s security team as the company faced several controversies, including proliferation of Russian disinformation on platforms during the 2016 US presidential election and United Nations reports that military generals in Myanmar used the social media site to carry out the genocide of the Rohingya.
